The business model for the use of the Interoceanic Estate is framed within a BOT model. This model consists of a lease of a real property under a long-term lease agreement with early rent, BOT. The model of BOT (Build, Operate & Transfer), is defined by a long-term lease of 20, 30 and up to 50 years where the lessor has the right to the development of economic activity, and the use and enjoyment of accrued profits. At the end of the lease, the lessor may renew the agreement or transfer the infrastructure, equipment and facilities to the lessee.
ODEPAL Internacional has organized several local corporations for the lease of specific spaces and services to international operators in the inter-oceanic estate, where the operator acquires 100% of the shares of these entities for the term of the BOT agreement, and subsequently returns those shares. These national corporations have all ministerial and municipal approvals to develop each specific economic activity.
